Let them have some xmas spirit while they are kids, as long as they don't continue to believe santa is real when that get older then its okay.

Do you want to lie to your kids? ;) Why not tell them about Jesus and the true history of Christmas instead :)

Great quote from some Marley dude: "I shot the santa, but I didn't shoot the elves you see........"

My kids know there isn't a santa claus, we celebrate Jesus' birth during this time, not some secular creation. The story behind the real St. Nicholas is cool, you should read that and tell you kids about that guy instead of the fake santa claus.

I tell my kids santa is as real as some religious gods. Made up to create confusion and pull people away from the one true God.

From an early age it is acceptable to let children believe this in their own minds.. Children need the creativity and imagination at this age. Past this it is purely up to the child to accept what they want to believe or not, if asked I would not lie but give them enough information, but would answer their questions with a question till they come to there own conclusion.

I never believed in Santa. I guess it's because I always saw my parents putting out the presents. I've been trying to tell my sister for years that Santa doesn't exist, but she doesn't believe me. Maybe it's because she never saw my parents put out the presents. She's always sleep each year when they do that.

Parents aren't the only ones putting presents under the tree.. Why on earth anyone would boo hoo such a thing, and even worse, why someone would try to tell their sibling otherwise is sick...

Isn't the Christmas story magical enough??? Quests, Angels, Astrology, Kings hunting down a future threat when He was a baby, Prophesies, etc...

    vs.

A fat guy in a red/white suite with a trash bag full of toys. Yes, lets make sure they know that Christmas is a time where we buy crappy toys for them because we feel obligated to.

There sure are some pretty negative people here. Were you one of those bad kids that always got coal in your stocking?

Didn't realize I was being negative. Man, it's hard to speak about Christianity any more without wondering if you're being associated with the hateful neocons. I appologize though, to me and other Christians, I think it was positive. :)

I never got coal :p, even when I was really bad. That's how I knew Santa wasn't real lol ;)

not something I need to worry about yet, my boys is only 2 months old, but alll the same I think a kids life should be filled with the magic of the world, not the reality of it

    - so if it means santa, the easter bunny and the tooth fairy, well so be it!!
