What? Are you trying to insinuate that Santa isn't real?

Children understands that Santa is not real but they don't want to disappoint you and act like they believe what you are telling :)

My daughters are 6 and 9 years old. The younger one thinks santa is as real as our front door (yes, we do have a front door). The older one started doubting perhaps two years ago until it was pretty obvious for herself that the whole thing must be a hoax, so when she asked we asked back "what do you think?". She said nah, and invoked certain physical impossibilities as her main reasons so we said there you go. Now she keeps pretending to preserve her sister's illusion.

If i ever have kids, i certainly will not. You see people underestimate the importance of a persons first 10 years of life, these are the years that set out who and what a child will become forever. If you want to raise your children up as cattle and blind followers, then i suggest you delude them with things like santa. But if you want to raise your children up as critical, intelligent people, that go really far in this world, you need to be working on them as soon as possible. If they can write, give them a piece of paper and tell them to do a list of 10 reasons why people would invent santa.

If you raise your children in an extreme reality based environment, they may not be as creative as adults. Let them have imaginary friends, tea parties with their stuffed animals and be too excited to sleep because they know Santa is coming to town. Childhood should have some magic, let them dream. There will be plenty of time for cold reality when they become an adult.

Nope, not going to tell them santa's real... Instead going to tell them that the holidays should be less about presents and more about spending time with loved ones...

Yeah. Kid's like that sort of thing. If you ban Santa, you might as well ban all cartoons and fairy tales as well. :(

How about asking them to analyze the effects of Keynesian economy on labour conflicts? That'll make them really smart ;)

I'm 36 years old and I still believe in Santa.. Of course my kid is told there is a Santa.. He comes every year and brings lots of goodies for those of us who have been good.. Belief in Santa to me is no different than believe in God or the tooth fairy. I've seen the same amount of proof there that is no Santa as I have that there is a Santa..

Its quite sad that you compare your belief in GOD as that to your belief in the tooth fairy.

What is sad is that you missed the point...

It's called Faith... There is no more proof in either or... We who believe rely purely on faith...

At your age, I understand why this is confusing..
