Many times over the years, I have written here about my love of the Dallas Cowboys. While the Cowboys are my favorite NFL team, their owner - Jerry Jones, is a terrible human being in my view. When he first bought the Dallas Cowboys, his first duty was to fire longtime Cowboys coach Tom Landry. He did this not in person, but Landry found out he was being fired in a news conference that Jerry Jones held with then new coach Jimmy Johnson. At that time, I knew that Jerry Jones was no good from a moral standpoint - but over the years I have had to put up with him first insulting Tom Landry and then insulting his new coach Jimmy Johnson because he was getting too much credit for building a team that won back to back Superbowls. Then a couple of years ago, Jerry Jones wanted a new football stadium and he also wanted that new field to be in Arlington, Texas. In a move that still boggles my mind, city leaders in Arlington decided to use emanate domain to force out homeowners so Jones would not have to pay fair market value for the property he wanted for his new stadium. In a couple of months, the Dallas Cowboys will open the 2009 NFL season in their new stadium that is more advance than any other in the National Football League. While I am happy that the Cowboys have a new stadium, it is bitter sweet because for most Cowboys fans that new stadium will be nothing more than Jerry's World from now on. Then a few weeks ago, there was a terrible accident at a Dallas Cowboys practice field in Irving, Texas. During a severe thunderstorm, a temporary top on the practice field failed and it collapsed down on the players and coaches below. One team scout was paralyzed from the waist down for life after that accident and right now many people are waiting with excitement for Jerry Jones to get sued because of the amount of greed and mistrust he has brought upon the people of Dallas/Ft. Worth. Right now, I don't know who the finger of blame will point to in this latest accident - but there are thousands of people in the DFW area that don't like or trust Jerry Jones. So, if he finds himself in a court of law facing a lawsuit over this tragic accident - there will be many smiles on the faces of people that have seen their lives changed by his financial greed.
