I disagree about the name. It's shorter but the spelling is terrible. Cool.com would be another matter.
That did make me chuckle having a shorter name than google will not be a competitive advantage. even if it was a.com
I really don't like the way search results are shown. It's certainly a good idea and very innovative, but i wouldn't stop using Google over this.
So far Cuil was not able to prove that they are better then Google in any ways. May be down the road, not yet though.
The worthiness of cuil cannot be gauged now. Let us see how far the buddie cuil takes the mighty google in the days to come...
I would bet the founder of Google are reading posts just like this and are taking their notes down now. Perhaps in the near future we will see many improvements that could rival Google. However, first impressions are lasting.
I think the name is actually somewhat creative. The fact that it's pronounced the same as "cool" but is actually an old Irish word meaning "knowledge" is kind of neat.
I was wondering about that too. I think it's either coo-ill or cool. I can't imagine saying "I'll Cool it." in the place of "I'll Google it." It just doesn't sound right. :/
Google already has lots of rivals like Yahoo and Ask.com. I guess what you're saying is that they need somebody who is more competitive and has a higher percentage of the search engine market.
