so is it famous a nearly year later lol..... dont think so

 

Cuil looks better than Google. But in results it's a bit perplexing. I checked same long tail words on both. In broad match, Cuil gives more results than Google but in exact match, it's vice-versa! I guess I'll have to dig deeper.

 

It will be dead pooled.

 

Same here! I had never heard of Cuil and had not visited it at time of posting this.

Here in the uk we have a new Search Engine coming in May to > www.wolframalpha.com is the name presently

 

I've never even heard of Cuil. I'll have to check it out.

 

The results look good to me, but i must be getting on a bit, because i need a magnifying glass to see what i'm typing on the homepage searchbox Its alexa rank seems to be dieing

I am looking forward to http://www.wolframalpha.com like some of the other peeps on here.

I think wolframalpha will be a winner - i just wish it had a better name....lol

I think google will stay ahead of everyone unless ask, yahoo, and microsoft all team together...

 

I think Google still be the winner at this time. But who knows in the future there is good and balance competitor to google

Cuil may follow the path of Acoona after a year. Accona was discontinued.

Google is still the king for now but not for long.

 

Who are new potential kings?

 

I don't think Cuil will kill Google. My 8 month old site got indexed in all major search engines but not yet in Cuil.

 

All depands on time. But i think no one can kill google.

 

You kind of can't kill google. Google just recently became #1, Yahoo was #1 for all this time, it didn't stop google, just as google being #1 now does not stop Yahoo.

Facebook has been the new MySpace lately, but MySpace is still running strong. There are some sites that are just not killable, they will always rack in the money.

PS: I never heard of Cuil till this post.

 

no way. Google already has expanded into all aspects of search market, mobile, google maps, streetview, etc.

even if Cuil is somehow able to win over google in search, remember google already has the capital to buy them out.

 

i dont think so. google has far more economic advantage. they will simply buy out cuil should they get in the way.

Their search engine is absolutely terrible. Their results are nothing like any of the major search engines. It is a horrible search engine, and I feel bad for anyone who invested into it.

It will be nowhere next year.

Cuil is pretty much dead IMHO. If there was to be any "killing", they should have done that during their earlier days when the hype was going around. They squandered that chance.
