I see a lot of threads selling sigs and avatars....there are more right now in the Links Sales than regular links...

Im wondering if the trend will continue or not...

    What do you think?

As long as there's demand for it, sure.

Seems to be a trend of doubling prices every 6 months and not so according to how many posts you have either.

    Col :)

Do you say that the prices 6 months ago were lower?

The question is why the mods accepts this trend...because its good to have more sales? Because there is more traffic?

or just to prize the users?

Why would the mods not accept it? I'm sure they have better things to do than police who has what in their avatars.

One would think that the prices would go up the more people are selling, supply and demand really. Lots of demand(people buying avatars/sigs), and little supply(active quality posters) in this case.

Its the worst idea for a forum to allow avatar selling. It looks ugly and totally screws up the esthetic of the pages. (just like my avatar does)

If there is a demand there will be a supply. Yes it does look too much commercialised. But then you cannot police them.

Besides the way google behaves i guess a serious webmaster have no option but to resort on such strategies.
I believe this trend is here to stay.

as long as there is value in receiving traffic & inbound links from signatures, they will continue to be bought!
