If i change it from free hosting for example 000webhost to hostgator? I heard some people saying their traffic tripled?!
The problem with those free host, you might have hundreds of websites running on one IP address. Lets say a few of those sites get blacklisted by google as a malicious attack site. Your site gets thrown into the mix because its on the same IP. Here is a real example of how this can work. This article is from the Wall Street Journal http://blogs.wsj.com/digits/2009/06/04/ftc-shuts-down-spammer-isp/ One article I read said that around 10,000 sites where also shutdown that were just being hosted on the servers. So just a few spam sites got over 10,000 innocent sites closed. Then you move your server to somewhere like hostgator that tries to run a clean network. That means that your site is in a good neighborhood. Instead of a neighborhood associated with spam.
oh man thats crazy. oddly enough my incoming spam has slowed down this past week, wonder if they were responsible.
Changing from a free host to a paid host will not suddenly give you endless traffic. But when people visit your website, or see your domain they will see that it is not a free host domain, and doesn't have forced ads, which looks far more professional than free hosted websites!!
It will but not massive changes! If I saw a link to a free hosted site, I wouldnt even click it! But I would click a normal domain I knew was paid hosting!
