Will Changing Pages to Posts in Wordpress Effect my SEO

I originally setup a wordpress site with static pages. I wanted to change it to a posts format. Will this have a negative effect on my SEO? Should I leave the home page static with some content or should I just create more pages instead with links on the home page?

What's the best way to go about this?

yes it will affect things, they'll get archived and over time get deeper into the site. I would leave the static pages up.
