Hey all, I have a website with very high PR, currently most of my backlinks link to www.mydomain.com, but the www address redirects to http://mydomain.com - probably because all of my content was initially uploaded to the public_html folder instead of the www folder from my site's root. So my question is, if I move everything over to the www folder will this effect my SERP,Pagerank, Alexa rank, or anything else? Do you think I should leave it as is, or change it?
You can change this easily by modifying your .htaccess file http://www.mattcutts.com/blog/seo-advice-url-canonicalization/ http://www.experts-exchange.com/Other/URLs/Q_23121553.html http://www.webmasterworld.com/apache/3692704.htm
Hi Trancegamer, Take the advice from up above and you won't be affected in the slightest. Also make sure you change the settings in Google Webmaster tools for this setting, so that you don't have duplicated results in the SERPs. Assuming you already use this tool. Regards, EIMG
