The problem with Isreal was it it accepted the cease fire without getting their soldiers, that was stupid.

UK needs to attack Mullhas financial resources frequently as long as the soldiers are released. In the mean time they should open the way to negotiation and keep repeating "We want our soldiers and apology from Iran", then in the end Iran will release soldiers and UK withdraw from asking for apology.

Any other form of dealing with mullahs will result in further wrong doing.

I agree Earl. If there's gonna be conflict, don't back down this time. Israel backed down and didn't get their guys back. UK shouldn't repeat the same mistake.

the UK wont back down, it will not abandon it's troops, if it did, the uk armed forces and people would rebel,
the moral of the troops would drop so far, they wouldnt risk being in places where they have no back up and are left to suffer.

Trust me when I say there's no conceivable way the UK armed forces would rebel! We're loyal to the Queen, not the government ;)

No you're talking about individuals who deserted - a big difference to the widespread mutiny and subversion you implied before.

here read it and weep. then STFU

This dispute was in many ways typical of the smaller struggles of the wave of mutinies which swept the British Armed Forces towards the end of World War One.

1919: The RAF Biggin Hill mutiny

you want the movie, order it here SECRET HISTORY: MUTINY IN THE RAF (1996)

and just for your attention span
    A brief history of mutiny:rolleyes:

Oh right, I get you - 500 crabs at Biggin Hill when our armed forces had the best part of a million servicemen. That's what I call widespread mutiny.

I doubt that very much some how. I'll give you a clue - if you look in the Army List Part 1 I come immediately after General Sir Mike Jackson in the index!

No, as fellow Officer (the class of 560XXX, although obviously I'll not be giving my full service number out) - I can see your knowledge of the military doesn't stretch as far as know what the Army List actually is. This is what I love about you - so knowledgeable about everything. What was it last time... "We don't paint tanks with emulsion to tell them apart - they have radio trackers" - WTF?

that was household emulation, and it washes off in a car wash. but you are not being honest with yourself are you, you know that in 1956 the army revolted and they shot the ringleaders. or should i post them links too?

There are lucky I'm not British Prime Minister my response would be very simple.

    - YOU HAVE 7 DAYS TO RETURN OUR SOLDIERS IF YOU FAIL TO DO THIS YOU CAN CONSIDER A STATE OF WAR EXISTS BETWEEN OUR TWO COUNTRIES.

No games, no BS, just a reminder that British citizenship is worth something and that British troops are not pawns.

You're right in what you say - there's only so much tact and diplomacy that even a moderate nation like the UK can muster - but to declare a state of war when they still have our personnel is foolhardy. Far better to gain the advantage by getting our Royal Navy peeps back and then softening up a few Iranian targets.

If I understand right. Britain on its own has enough nuclear warheads to remove Iran off the map. I'm not saying they should do that, but I think Iran should show just a little more respect.

We do, but we're a responsible nuclear nation - to be used only as a defensive last resort, not offensively. The imperative thing, as I'm sure you'll agree, is to get our personnel back is swiftly and safely as possible - if that requires some political arse kissing, tact and diplomacy then so be it - we can't afford, for the sake of those 15 individuals, to play hard ball just yet.

Once they're back in safe hands is when we strike - with resolve, precision and overwhelming force. Time to put Iran back in its place - camel shagging scum.
