Hello! I've been working hardly to create backlinks for my site named nettipelit. I want it top 1 for the keyword "nettipelit" in Google.FI (finnish). I've been still wondering that google webmaster tools show that I have NO backlinks, as many other backlink finders show all of my backlinks, that i've made. Can only posting more backlinks put me on top 1 in google or do I need to perform something more?
Have you done the competitors' analysis for this keyword and market? Have you done thorough on-page SEO on your website? Building backlinks will definitely help but first you need to perform well on the on-page front. Regards, Shailendra

I've done some analyzing. My market rivals are all above PR1 atleast in the first page, my site is completely new. My site is pretty new, but the improvement has been fast. From page 5 to the top of page 3 and I hope to hit soon the page 2 top. I'm aware of nofollow links and they aren't what I'm doing. I am building links by posting to forums threads and some blog sidebar links etc. I'm also linking from my other websites to the site. I'm using mostly the keyword as the anchor. My site is not very old. However why is it that some sites jump to page 1 in google in no time at all?
you must be careful when making back links. when making the them you need to put the link in specific words called the anchor text to help in the seo. the anchor text must point to the most related page in accordance with the anchor text. this will lead to a high ranking
Why would you want to rank your site for "nettipelit"? How many searches does that term gets monthly? You need to rank your site for keywords that have lots of searches, and frankly, i don't think nettipelit have any searches at all...
One word yes this is only the way to come in top, but it's not so easy there is huge competitor, you have to chase them
You could be number 1, if you have more than 1,000 quality backlinks with your best keyword and all of them are dofollow.
If all it took was backlinks then all you would have to do is spend all your time creating them. But ask yourself this question. Would Google want to display sites in the #1 position just because they have the most links? And if so they why would they bother even creating a Search Algorithm. It would be a simple task to just count links.
not a very competitive term and only 720 exact searches for that term on google.fi per month. with the domian name you have, it will not be very hard to rank #1. all you need it some contextual link building. backlinks on google take time to show. dont worry if the links are not showing up right away. keep building backlinks and they will eventually show
Backlinks are your resources on the internet. probably, you will rank 1 if those backlinks are organic and you've done effective SEO for you website. Also check you Keywords. try Keyword suggestion tools and try to check if those jeywords are getting a good number of searches.
backlinks are important in your link building but how relevant and quality of the links is what search engine are searching for, if your backlink are quantity over quality, it seems to be useless
a) Do on-site SEO for your site b) Add quality pages with good quality content c) Submit sitemap to google yahoo etc. This way you will be poised to make an attempt at getting into the top spot for your chosen keywords in google.fi.
"Nettipelit" means Internet games on finnish. It has 150000 searches per month so it's not irrelevant keyword. Atleast that's what adwords show.
Just build the links for crying out loud. No one here can definitively answer your question. Look at your competitors and see where they are getting links. Try to find similar sites, or try to copy their linking strategy, and then add some social bookmarking links to put you over the top. You can rank #1 for anything, you just have to do it. Stop talking, and start working.
I don't think so..most important is on-page optimization. If you use your keyword very carefully that google want, your keyword will sure ranks. I have seen many site which ranking at 1, but they don't have any backlink.
yes obviously you will be on top, but you have follow up the webmaster guidelines, also you have to grab quality backlinks..
