Will Article Marketing Works In The Long Term?

Will article marketing works in the long run as in will the articles that you've written and submitted a few years ago still bring you some traffic or will they not bring any traffic at all...so does it means that we need to keep submitting new articles every now and then to bring in fresh traffic?

I heard from a friend of mine that his 1000plus articles written and submitted to EzineArticles 3 years ago are still able to bring him quality traffic and sales everyday...! So does this means that once we hit the thousand mark for our approved articles on EzineArticles, we can simply seat back and enjoy sales everyday? In this case, I mean being contented with just 1 sale everyday...is it possible?

The reason I am asking this is that I would not want to keep writing articles non-stop forever...I believe if we hit a certain amount, lets say 6000 approved articles on EzineArticles, we can basically just seat back and enjoy the daily sales for the rest of our life? Can anyone give me more insights and advises? Thanks!

My opinion may differ from others, but I stand by my knowledge either way..

If you are going to write large quantities of content and are in it for the long term, definitely publish them on your own website or blog. Grow your own pagerank over time and you gain a stable asset.

Submitting to Article Sites may bring decent traffic quicker, but the page has many more leaks where people can click elsewhere. Not only that, but you are depending on the longevity of the article site, and their polices and ethics.

Starting your own article site is a slower way to start, but when you finish your 6000 articles, you will certainly have a nice stream of traffic, as long as your content has good quality. Even though your traffic may be lower, you will have complete control of your advertising positions, rather than just having a bottom-page resource link.

Your own site or blog also leaves open the possibilities to expand or jump to new markets if needed.

It depends on lots of factors..

How well those articles rank in the search engines (that's the main one)

Their quality, uniqueness and the number of incoming links (actually that's what's going to get them ranked in the SE hence get some long term traffic.

PS Publishing on your own domain is USELESS.

So my question is, will I be able to simply just stop writing articles once I reached the 6000 mark for articles and can just sit back and have passive income for the rest of my life? :)

YA. Umm.. not quite. There's tons of organic traffic sites that make azz-loads of affiliate sales.

Don't let anyone convince you that it's not worth doing. If nothing else, for piece of mind and experience.

Will 3000 articles really bring that much traffic in 3 years time on ezines? I doubt it... say you write an article for the keyword "natural weight loss" and manage to get it on Google page 1.... Over time the backlinks you made to it will dissapear, it will also move into the deep archives of EZA and won't be strongly linked internally in EZA, then all it takes is a better article to be posted on EZA for "natural weight loss" and they will appear on Google instead of you, and in 3 years time a lot will change online - there will be different SEO methods etc and it shouldn't be that hard to write a "better" article than one written 3 years ago and do a little SEO for it...

On the other hand if you have your own site with 3000 articles (pages) on it, yes they will fade in the search engines if you just leave and do nothing to the site, but you will of built up a resource, possibly a mailing list, a community, a following, you also get much more control over the core of the site (the header, featured articles, what appears on the homepage, the sidebar etc) and can test different things to see what works best. You could gain an advantage and direct traffic to your own product you develop, or perhaps even sell the domain on if you really want to move on..

EZA definitely has a place, but if you are really in it for the long term then make something of your own, don't hope a service will stay favourable for you - take control.

6000 articles on ezine eh? try getting 6 approved first.. with their rather unstable editorial board. They approve an article but reject a very similar one.. argh

Nice sharing. BTW i have a poser to you. I just had a glance to your mall and found many products. My doubt is how to do article marketing for such a variety of products? All those are my cup of tea.
