will any other search engine defeat google?

i dont think so any other search engine will defeat google because google is more powerfull search engine and up coming months and year google will more powerfull

 

Well, we have a live example of Orkut & Facebook

Orkut is a property of Google which is now a days down since long. So, obviously any one can beat any one. As of now Google is a King. Let's see if any queen can beat this king

Google is actually not dominant in many countries such as Russia and China. Yandex is on its way to expand with a lot of funding. They are doing better than Bing. So maybe one day..

In my opinion, nothing is immutable, not even google.
The market is always moving, especially on a platform this young and dynamic that is the internet.
This whole idea of google being sheltered against competition reminds me how all the U.S. car companies, who were world leaders in the car industry, got crushed by the japanese company.
Google may as well be the next Ford...
The question that remains is who will be the next Toyota.

 

I think maybe a assumed serch engine launched by Facebook has the chances to beat Google, as Facebook's huge user base.

 

I agree with a previous poster that Google isn't #1 in other countries. In China, they have Baidu which is still the country's preferred search engine.
Google still has a long way to go before it can beat out Baidu

 

I'm not sure if some SE will get better in the near future, but for myself I use Google69.com because it gives the exact same results as Google but without stupid adwords. And it is easy for SEO use because each position is marked with the number.

Same in Russia Yandex.ru have 80% of users.

 

I remember when Alta Vista and InfoLinks were my search engines of choice,, way back in the day.
Or even Lycos with the black dog on their TV ads at the time.

But now we have Big G and the day that they overtook yahoo was the day we would all be stuck with Google for ever..

I dont see this happening unless google does something illegal and they catch them. Otherwise i see no way that any other search engine can get even close.

 

I think Google is too far ahead for anyone to threaten it in the recent future. Unless the company gets a record breaking lawsuit against it or a virus at its data centres then I don't think it can happen.

 

As we all know no one can predict about the future of internet technology....but in this present world yes ! google is the king and as I know day by day google will be more popular because if it's simplicity and fast in loading whenevr user put thier queries !

 

Google has captured the search market because of its continual updation and relevant results. No other search engine stands close to it in delivering relevancy.

 

Just wait and see. Due to the rapid changes on the internet there will sure be someone to beat if Google stop improving themselves or make just one slight mistake.
