Will an RSS feed lower traffic and ad revenue?

Please forgive me if this is an ignorant question as I don't know much about RSS. If I put an RSS feed on my blog won't that mean that less people will actually visit my page and I will have less opportunity for ad revenue?

not in my case, feeds help my site's traffic grow ups day to day.
just make the feed headline interesting as you can

There's a few new products out there dealing with putting ads in your rss feeds. Text Link Ads has their Feedvertising for instance.

While RSS gives users the option to read your content without actually visiting your site, it gives you subscribers which are users that constantly reading your content. BTW some RSS feed publishers allow you to show just a part of your posts and link to the full article at your site. This might be a good option for you

It is going to depend really.

If your RSS feed is just a complete copy of your website - then yes, it will take traffic away from your webpages.

If your RSS feed (like mine) is actually just the headlines and a summary - then it will increase traffic.
