Will Adsense Ban Me For This?

Discussion in 'Guidelines / Compliance' started by forgetfulchild, Aug 14, 2009.

Alright so I've been with Adsense since September of last year. I haven't had a single check come, as I never really worked at Adsense. I'm stuck at $73.19, and I'm planning to get a site up and work on it so I can at least get a check.
    Problem is,
    When I first got Adsense,
I clicked my own ads like 5 times. I live in an apartment, with my wireless unsecured, and told ALL of my friends to click my ads, and maybe some of them used my wireless, i dont know.
Basically, I frauded like $10 worth of clicks.
That was back in September when I first got Adsense.
Will I get banned when I reach close to $100?
    What are the odds...?
    Thanks!

Well, that was like last year, so if they haven't banned you yet then it's not gonna happen, but don't do it again or you WILL get banned.

Thanks for the reply, Love*, I hope you're right. Do you think there is a chance they might ban me though?

Yes, if you continue to tell your friends to click on your ads. Doesn't matter on whose computer they're on, Google WILL ban anyone with fraudulent clicks. So never do it again.

That's a risk. You did it and you need to bare the risk
This is same case as a robber rob the bank but not caught by policeman at that moment, will he being caught by the policeman in future?

Love* - Ok. But what if none of my friends and not me click any ads, and ALL of my clicks upto $100 are legit. Will Google look at my history of clicks, and see that some were fraudulent, then ban me? Thanks again.

Lifeplayer - You're right. It was a risk and it was dumb. Thanks.

I would. But I don't want to spend a fortune to buy a site or make a new site and promote it to just get banned. =/

yea stop fretting, if they were going to ban you from an incident months back it would have happened. It isn't like they wait till your about to be paid to ban you, although that would be funny to get all the frauds hopes up.

You deserve nadda nothing at all its people like you even make the honest person at adsense look suspiciuos. You will not get a check because before it's released it goes over for review they will catch it and I hope they do. It states in there TOS about clicks by you or telling friends to click.

Read the terms and conditions again and stick to it at any cost in order to keep receiving the checks for ever. You did it a long back but you are not banned yet so forget it and do it ever.

That's actually not necessarily true. My understanding is that Google often doesn't review accounts until the first check is about to be sent out, which is why a lot of people get banned just as they hit the $100 mark.

Will it happen in this case? It's impossible for us to know. If the invalid clicks only happened for a very short time and then stopped, maybe you will be OK. But there is no guarantee that you are safe, especially if your friends have kept clicking.

Never ever do it again and pray for the best
IMO your account should survive as otherwise you would have already been banned, but you never know

I guess you probably wont do it again, regarding the banning, you can never tell, Google can review the clicks just as you are about to hit the $100 mark...

Google doesn't look over the site until it's time to send a check. If 10% of your clicks came from IP addresses that have also accessed your Google services, there's a good chance they're going flag your account for termination after they refund all of the fraudulent clicks.

Google Adsense Team work like this :

    1. If they found your cheat with invalid click or yourself click , they will alert by email one time and one time only.
    2. If this trouble repeat again , just one more time, they will be banned your account.

    That's how does they work
