Will Ads Show If Bid Under First Page Estimate?

    Hi,

I have one simple question related to Adwords.

Will my ads show if I have a max CPC on a keyword that is much lower than the "first page bid estimate"?

The first page bid estimate says I'd have to bid 0.40 per click, however since the keywords has no competitors for my target region, I have a MAX CPC of 0.07 per click.

Will my AD still show with a max cpc of 0.07?

    Thanks

I'm new to adwords so i'm not quite sure. i would say it depends. from what i've seen that first page estimate jumps up and down so often. if your quality score improves then obviously that bid estimate will drop. its also an estimate and depends on what your competitors are doing at that time.

It is always difficult to know for sure with 1st Page Estimates but, given there are no other advertisers, I would suggest you will need to match the estimate to get shown.

I presume this is a new campaign so, assuming you have a reasonable QS, you might find that after a couple of days the bid will go down to something more reasonable.

if your not getting impressions your not getting shown, you can be well below the "1st page estimate" and still get shown. But as Bjewelled stated you can just put in the max cpc to be shown and with a good enough QS / and other factors that price will come down over time.

Generally you want to be over 8th place anyway. Sometimes I've placed my bid and the Traffic Estimator says I'll be in 4-6 place, then when I confirm it says I'm not bidding enough for first page. Usually I just raise my bid a little.

I have found that the first page bid estimates are often misleading as Google has suggested a bid increase of amounts up to £2 on some of my keywords that are already appearing in first place.

I think it is worthwhile to first ensure you have done everything possible to optimise your campaigns before taking into consideration this recommendation by Google.
