Will a dynamic DNS address ever rank well?

I've got an Ubuntu Tutorials blog that I started months and months on a home webserver. At the time I used a dynamic DNS address because that was the best I could do on a home connection. Since then the traffic has really picked up and I see a lot of backlinks building up.

I'm just wondering if a dynamic domain will take longer to climb the PR ladder or if it might be considered the same as another. It has been a PR3 for quite some time so I'm getting curious.. is that an issue Google looks at? Should I consider transitioning things to a standard domain & start setting up some 301s?
