If you manage to redirect all urls from your old domain to your new I think so yes. I remember a friend of mine had to get a new domain name because his old was based ona a famous company's name. So he got the new domain name and redirected the old domain to the new one and within a month it was up running as usual. However, I think you should really should rethink doing this. If it's just because you feel you want a new name because you tired of the old one I would probably not risk it if I were you. If it's because of a similar reason as mentioned above you should look into the redirecting part a bit more and maybe get help from a professional.

    Good luck.

make sure to use 301 (permanently moved) ass opposed to 302 (temporary moved) to transfer all the PR and link juice and get replace in the google indexed with the new domain name

If you permanently redirect all the old URLs to the new ones via 301 redirect, the link juice will be given to the new site, including the PageRank. Make sure you notify Google through its Webmaster Tools about your site's change of address.

I did just that when I registered a new domain name for my company. Interestingly, it took the new site less than two months to gain PR4.
