I wonder whether 4 letter domain names will increase in value somewhat like high xxx or low xxxx over time. What do you think? I think it will take sometime to happen like that.
If domain name has good keywords and is a good one yes. That is the same with any amount of letter domain name.
If your talking about all LLLL ccTLDs as well, no. If your taking about LLLL.com only, I think only pronouncable ones or with good letters have potential, not crap ones like qzxq.com
this is the sorta stuff that just tries to built a house of cards... over time.... Let's clear up a few things: 1. What period of time? 2. Does investing 10$ now to sell for $100 in 10 years make sense? 3. Money has to come from somewhere, are 4 letter domains getting end user value (not words, just your average 4 letter name) or are simply being passed around resellers? 4. How does it compare as an investment compared to other parts of the market? My guess is over some period of time the reseller price will increase but not at a significant level where it makes sense to be investing in them. I am betting those who registered those terrible letter domains will probably end up dropping this time next year, a lot of them. Do you really want to pay $8 for xqpz.com and 100 more like it? Most people who bought those last... god knows 10,000? 20,000? probably just wanted a quick flip. Like many of the land rushes I am guessing a huge number will drop and that will really tell how strong a market it is. Now if you bought nice 4 letter domains (or any number of letters, because a nice domain is a nice domain, let's be honest) then you should be fine. Good short names (pronouncable - REALLY not your made up only you can say it pig latin pronouncable, meaningful, etc) will probably be a solid investment 4 letter or otherwise.
After a really long period of time, then four character domain names will increase in value.. And if it's an abreviation for a company it will be even more valuable.
All LLLL.com's will steadily increase in value no matter what the letters are (not to the point of high $xxx or low $xxxx but still high enough to give you good returns) at least till the next year around this time, after that either we will see a huge number of LLLL.com's dropped and their value dropped to reg fee or if the investors who have invested in them renew them we will see a huge jump in LLLL.com's value. I think the later case is more probable. Don't forget, internet is still growing and still has a lot of potential for growth, as the time goes on lots of new end users and domainers will be introduced in the market.
