Pretty nice deal you've catch! :)

If I had more cash in my piggie bank: I would start getting great DN's at cheap prices before the deals go up...

So are the .com's the only ones worth getting at this point in time?

Strong names like 3dComputer.net, 3dTV.net should bring in a pretty penny if things go the way I believe they will. But buy3dpc.net would not be worth much in my opinion.

Maybe not the .net but I bet buy3dpc.com could sell for quite a bit.

I sold buy3dpc.com for $1000 on sedo less than a week ago. I NET $900 as they take 10%. Not bad as I paid $7.95 for it. They actually had to wait 4 days to sell it after they had the money in escrow, as they said it was not the 60 days yet. GREAT NEWS FOR ALL OF US... Is $1000 quite a bit or did I sell too cheap??
My best net: 3DInternet.net What do you think of that .net??

I think if you had waited until 3D makes it big you could have got quite a bit more. I own buy3dmonitor.com I hope to get something decent for that. I am going to wait it out until 3D gets more popular. 3DInternet.net is a real good one. Most the short domains like that one are all taken. I bought a lot of SEO targeted domains, I plan to develop them and market with facebook + twitter + other ads and build backlinks and such to show potential buyers how profitable they can be, then sell.

I chose this route mainly because I don't have the money to buy short tail names like buy3dpc.com or 3dinternet.net and then wait 1-2 years to sell. I would have to dish out quite a lot of money to buy the short tail keywords that are selling.

Anyone who sells decent names now is making a big mistake, sell the names you can flip for under $100, just your average to terrible names, hold onto the better oens and wait for a bigger payday

    Just my opinion

Just sold the other domain name for $1000.00 (a short long name). They have the money in escrow. I will reveal once money is in my account. Very similar to buy3dpc.com

So what is this "3D" market? 3D Bakery? What's not 3D at a bakery? 3D Watch? I'm a little lost on what the hype about 3D is...

When your happy with the return on investment.

Some domains should be flipped as the hype begins IMHO, EG not so good names. Some will lose their shine over time, like 3D products that all become capable of 3D and people drop 3D from the search term because they know they are 3D. An example would be PC monitors, when all PC monitors on the market are 3D capable, you won't need to ask or search for 3D PC monitors.
Someone may want/need to get a site up quickly on the domain to cash in on the hype, that's a good time to sell... holding out for the "best price" could mean the difference between making an excellent ROI, making a not so good ROI and in some cases, not making a ROI at all. (missing the boat)

Some domains will become more attractive over time, an example would be "3dVideoOnline", that will become more attractive as the ability to stream 3D video online becomes available. When all new PC monitors are capable of 3D, it will come into its own. (Although if someone made the 'right' offer :))

    Congrats, enormous ROI.

    Cheers
    James

You sold this domain at a great price! Way to go dude! :)
Don't really think you could have that more in the future: IMO, it's not a great DN that would have got a higher capital gain...

Every domain is different as the various 3d tech is all at different stages,Just keep a close eye on developments to do wiith your specific domains and sell when the hype in your view is at its peak.

Excellent Question. 3D is more dimensional than just looking at a donut at a bakery. The background is much further away giving incredible dimension, when someone were to put on glasses if the donut was specifically made to be in 3D (they just developed this same technology without the glasses). That is where the 3D Domain Names would come in. The websites have to be made in 3D to be 3D. It costs more, and I believe directories, and other websites will continue to be in 2D even in a 3D WORLD. When you type in 3DBakery you want to shop in a 3D Virtual World, OR where backgrounds and graphics are more dimensional.

Just lookup 3D Computer Software, and Computer Software to also see the difference. There will always be room for both, adding 3D to a domain name tells the customer you have a 3D Website.
