That's a bold move Hotelxxx. I don't think anybody would love to type "III" instead of "3".

Understood, but it was the only one and if any one of them were gonna be the ones to be bought - 3d games would be the one I want.

Typing?...can't say I'm too worried about that so much, and really you're barely talking two extra keystrokes cause it's three of the same so that goes by just as fast as the one stroke

I bought it yesterday and after thinking about it... I think this may actually be one of my best names to date
A good domain name is one that is able to stand apart from the rest and this just does that
... but agreed... risky move ... What's seven more dollars at this point (hahah)....
My only real debatable one, so let's hope for the best but I absolutely love it!!!

Panasonic ties with Best Buy for 3D TV promotion

TOKYO (Reuters) - Panasonic Corp will launch its 3D televisions in the United States on Wednesday, and work with top U.S. electronics retailer Best Buy Co to promote the products, the Japanese electronics maker said.

The maker of Viera flat-panel TVs said it expects a 50-inch model to retail for $2,500, and aims to sell 500,000 3D TVs in the United States in the first year of their launch, half its annual global sales target.

Under the joint promotion, Best Buy will set up special sections at its retail outlets, where prospective customers can try out Panasonic's 3D TVs.

Panasonic, the world's No.4 flat TV maker behind Samsung Electronics Co Ltd, LG Electronics Inc and Sony Corp, holds high hopes for 3D TVs as it aims to turn its TV business profitable in the year starting April.

The sci-fi blockbuster "Avatar" and other recent titles have sparked massive interest in 3D movies, raising TV makers' hopes for a strong debut of 3D models.

Shares in Panasonic closed up 2.8 percent at 1,307 yen on Monday, outperforming the Tokyo stock market's electrical machinery index, which gained 2.1 percent.

I picked up a couple good names, but they're .us extensions. Do you think these will be of any value?

    3dtvhd.us
    Hdtv3d.us

to answer the question in the title, NO, 3D domains will not revive the domain industry HOWEVER they will fill the pockets of Bob Parsons and other registrar owners....

As far as people registering all these names I don't understand.. its a frenzy and a worthless one.

for example take a domain like "3dtvhd.us"

the keyword is 3d followed by "tvhd" and then the extension US which is a country code...

Here are other Keyword domains followed by the same "tvhd" available to register in the PREMIUM dotCOM extension..

    flatpaneltvhd.com
    flatscreentvhd.com
or if you want dotUS domains you can register
    PLASMAtvhd.us OR
    LCDtvhd.us
Both of the last two are PROVEN technologies and are HUGE in the marketplace and those are freely available right now to register... Yes 3D is a new technology but as someone in the tech field I can tell you that there are HUNDREDS of new technologies daily...

If you want to be a player in the "3D" market stop wasting $8 at a time and spend a few bucks and BUY a quality 3D dotCOM Domain.... IMHO

looks like it got your interest though judging by your searching :)
most people are not looking to become millionaire's from it obviously but as we all see it buying a few domains for a few bucks apiece and selling them on or actually using like i am is not a waste of time.
if people buy them and they flop its not a great deal to lose out on its just something else to add to all the other things that we do in order to strive for that extra few bucks
keep an eye on stats concerning 3d it might shock you but thats imho and whether they are worth it well nobody can really tell right now public opinion will decide that

oh and yeh those 8 buck domain names you say well thats it i would rather spend that and flop than spend a few grand some people dont have that sort of money to throw out there on a gamble those who do i wish all the luck it might pay off and it might not ,f you work in tech or within 3d then you are missing something its not restricted to one thing like plasma or lcd its spread throughout a mass range of things with more being developed spatial 3d,internet in 3d,im systems and webcams to name a few not only films and tv
whats wrong with trying a few domains in what could turn out to be one of the biggest things to hit us in this decade ?

I won't be a millionaire: just want it to be profitable!(Like any domainer!)
You look like a domainer too: Are you Millionaire? Do you register domains just to do a bit of profit too?

If someone isn't convinced of the 3D domain niche: That's ok - your opinion!
Like I really doubt that Ipads niche will be worth it: it will be a desaster...
If they do profit: Good for them! But, I don't troll on them...

but he's not looking to market TV HD .. he's looking to market THREE DEE TV... please review topic title

also.. technology like THIS oes NOT come around every year, every two years , every five years .. 3d is the means for a COMPLETE OVERHAUL of SO many industries, and being as it can visually be incorporated into a web site - it becomes even more priceless... who DOESN'T know Alice In Wonderland?... do you think it broke EVERY CONCEIVABLE record because it was a classic? .. NOPE.. they RUSHED (yes - RUSHED) to the theaters to get another 3d fix ...

btw... you can keep those names... aint nobody going to be searching for them anymnore... sorry :(

    :)

    * * Almost forgot ..
how cool a name is that IAN?
.. i wanted 3dIM .. or IM3d and was unable to get it... nice find
.. this would be like "television" to "TV"

One last note... Bob Parson's bought Cher's old house - something like $8mil.. house in Hawaii

    nice catch :)
i think a lot of people are not grabbing the actual concept of just how far the potential of 3d can be spread.

they only see in it in 2D... ;)

    Exactly, "3D" is a keyword & it's use isn't only restricted to 3DTV-movie ! That's the main difference between HD & 3D keywords.
