I think a good rule of thumb is that all of the domain names that will eventually matter for 3D TV have probably been registered ever since 2005 or so. There are domainers out there who have contacts in the tech industry or do a lot of research on distant future products who buy out all of the good domains.

That's not to say there aren't some good two-word ones left, although the real money are the exact word domains, which are already gone.

Looks like 3D technology will be coming on strong second half of the year. This is based on all the news I've been reading. Tons of 3d movie releases, 3dtvs, 3d cameras and camcorders, 3d webcams, etc.

I'm considering selling all my 3D domains now to a reseller. I guess I have no patience. Where is the best place to sell?

    Half truth...

... i'm SURE many top shelf domainers have inside connections that feed them all the good tech, not a doubt there, you wouldn't be a top shelf domainer without it... but that don't mean we shouldn't get involved and follow the trends.. new sayings and acronyms and catch phrases catch fire quick.

and if this was truly the case, there'd be no other domainers but that small handful and that's obviously not the case

    .. plus...

.. agreed that these might not ever fetch 7 figures like the names you might be talking about (3dtv, hd3d..etc..), but i have NO PROBLEM flipping these names for low - mid - high $x,xxx and up... may not be 'real money' - but to say that the remaining 3d names aren't really worth anything is false.

sedo just sold 3dfu*k.com this week for something like $850 (that was the last i saw, it may have ended higher)... you're gonna tell me that (1) - that's not worth $7 ?... and (2) - that the top shelf domainers were standing around fighting over that one?

.. no way.. cool name and all.. but i doubt they were all dying over it

with all the additional extensions and cc names, there are only so many that they are willing to dive into... multiply that across the globe and yes, many great names WILL be gone already... but my only disagreement is that, that doesn't mean ALL GREAT names will be gone and anything left for us is worthless cause that's just not the case.

... if i thought like that, i'd have never bought a single name, know what i mean?... neither would you, for that matter.

The first Sony 3D Blu-Ray player will go out this Summer : http://ces.cnet.com/8301-31045_1-10430918-269.html

And the First movie to go out in that format will be " Cloudy with a chance of Meat Balls (From Sony Entertainment) " : http://www.engadget.com/2010/01/07/sony-pictures-has-3d-blu-ray-titles-in-store-for-2010/

Again, Sony is leading the way: Since all PS3 will be able to play 3D Blu-Ray movies = They will sell even more PS3.

So, because PS3 is allready at millions of exemples in homes around the world: they won't be able to sell the 3DPlayers more then the PS3 (people will buy PS3 instead of wasting more money on a disc player). If we are good in logic : it will be something quickly affordable to incite people buying this technology.

Another optimistic fact that will get the 3D HYPE even bigger! :)

And Sony will be king in the 3D industry...(by the way Bluray technology is Sony's too).

It's not allways the market who dictates the Keywords: lots of time it's the general use from the users. It's not like the 3D keyword is only for TV and Movies: it can be use for 3Danimation, 3Dbrowsers, 3D applications for mobiles & many more. In this way, nobody can dictate the BEST KEYWORDS, except if you get the basic that unites them all = 3D.

ps: If any of you dont trust the 3D niche to bloom: Just don't buy it. Samething for me with the Ipad = no touch... ( I really think that Ipad is a waste and it will be the first Apple product, since Ipod came out, that will sink at the bottom of the market...)

The good news is that my 3DTV domains are getting daily type-ins with domain parking...of course I don't know if that's from customers, or from people looking to see who bought the domain they wanted!

lol...not even that will help. Sony will still go after them and sue for whatever revenue was made on it. There was a story similar to this in the legal forum.
