What does your comment has to do with 3D?. Be informative with tips and relevant content.

    ------

    I had a $1500 offer on 3Dprintin.com - should I keep or sell?.

Man I can't believe the age on this thread and the number of replies! I had a friend that came across some threads like these about two years ago, he went out and bought a couple hundred dollars worth of 3d domains. Just recently he tried to sell them and couldn't get anything for them so he had to let them all drop because he couldn't afford the registration fee's. I wish he would have started to develop the domains when he first bought them because he had a few I'm sure could be worth money a decade or so from now. If he had developed them into actual sites and made money off of them for the short-term, it would have helped him keep the sites for the long-term. I personally don't think 3d is going anywhere anytime fast. I've got a 3d TV and while it's nice, it's not revolutionary. I don't see it having enough hype to propel the sales anywhere fast. Maybe once technology evolves and 3d technology becomes more advanced these domains will be worth more, but I think that is a ways off. Right now 3d is really cool and it's already affordable. I bought my TV for $1,200. It's a 3d 1080p 50" plasma. If 3d was going to take off, it would have already done it. People would have jumped on it already because it's not expensive, there is nothing holding anyone back, they just aren't that interested in it.

I think the issue is your friend went and registered bad domains, all the good names have been taken a long time ago and the only way to get decent names is buy them on the aftermarket. If you have decent names you will get offers on them and you will make some money

so true giles many here were buying names like yourself about 3 years ago some even longer i have dropped about 60% of my names only because i wanted to trim down some have been picked up some have not but the names i have kept the interest is still there and growing.
still have the faith especially in my 3dprinting names i picked up over a year ago turned down quite a few offers on these not ready to sell just yet :)
3d printing has a long way to go still

While I agree about the 3D entertainment, the huge thing that is happening as we speak is the 3D printing of real stuff - from jewelry to medical drugs. This is a new way of manufacturing that will change the world soon I hope..

Yes. 3D Printing is exploding and will become even massive now that HOME 3D PRINTERS are being made for home use. Museums are using 3D Printing too. 3D Printing has gone as far as space. So its the place to be.

well he is doing just fine with several sales under his belt so far like a few others like myself :)
American iconic magazine The Atlantic invited Hugh Evans, vice president at T. Rowe Price Associates to publish an article about a technology or trend changing the markets. His topic: 3D Printing is a Game Changer.

From my vantage point, 3D printing is right up there as one of the most exciting innovations I’ve seen in the 20 years I’ve been around here. I think it’s going to change the way goods are manufactured across many industries.

Evans starts with the back story on 3D printing, how the technology evolved from producing wax-like prototypes to durable goods.

The revolution took place when companies like 3D Systems started designing radically new materials. They came up with nanocomposites, different blends of plastics, and different blends of powdered metals. They were then able to create a part that, if you held it in your hand, you’d think it was steel. You can throw it down on the ground against cement, and it looks and acts just like steel.

Later Evans mentions various industries that are embracing 3D printing.

These new materials allow this 3D printing to be adopted by aerospace, automotive. Jaguar is using the technology for rapid product development. So is the Bell Helicopter division of Textron.

It’s pretty intuitive to apply this technology to the automotive and aerospace industries, and jewelry has always been a big market. But one of the most exciting areas is actually dental fabrication.

One company I’m excited about is using 3D printing to make prostheses. It’s a venture-backed company in San Francisco called Bespoke Innovations. There are a large number of amputees in America and around the world–I believe something like two million people have some sort of prosthetic limb or device.

Finally, Evans talks about falling 3D printer prices, enabling consumer adoption.

Six years ago the cheapest machine out there was $30,000, but most were $100,000. Today you can get a capable 3D printer for around $1,299, which launched at the Consumer Electronics Show this year.

That’s why 3D printing is so interesting. It’s not just tied up in the engineering world anymore. It’s impacting a large number of industries, and becoming more relevant to consumers. I’m seeing that even high schools now have 3D printers. I just ran into a high school teacher the other day who teaches software classes, and he was telling me, “Oh, I just bought my first 3D printer.”

It’s exciting to see this technology begin to reach its full potential. A few years ago it was a little ahead of its time, but not anymore. It’s here today.

what more can is say 3d printing is a massive industry changer

Dont be sorry...just show some respect if someone takes the time out of their day and gives you an opinion on your names

I could have just ignored it but I didnt, I replied with an opinion on what I thought and tried to help someone new to industry and maybe saved you some money along the way

I just gave you my personal opinion on the names and tried to help

I think saying "f*ck you n1gga" and "you oz crook rat" is a bit childish!!!

This is quite an old thread. Still, it's funny to see the speculation on those 3d domains from two years ago. It can be hard to sell any domain, with or without the letters '3d' in it. I'm not sure it makes that great of a difference.

And don't ask for an appraisal if you don't like what you hear...the names are not the best and I think you will get the same answer from most people on these forums

I wasn't picking on you or your names, I was telling you the quality of the names....everyone gets negative comments on their names, just deal with it and say thank you for the appraisal

I don't think that 3D domain will have big impact in domain industry, since 3D make our eyes grew weary faster than normal domain.
I'm not against 3D domain. Just thinking that 3D domain will surely spice up browsing experience and will success in some area, but not affecting too much.
    Success with your 3D domain!
