Will 301's redirect PR also

as the title notes, if you have a mod_rewrite for a perminent redirect 301 to a new file name, will the PR move also? I have heard both ways, have yet to try.

    Thoughts?

I believe so, althought it might take some time for Google to update the PR.

My experiences with 301 redirects showed that the PR did transfer to the new target.

good to hear, I am not worried about waiting a few weeks for index to propogate, just dont want to loose the PR until the next update.

In my experience, you have have to wait for the next update for the PR to show on the toolbar, if that is what you are talking about.
