Wild SERPS

Have any of you noticed a lack of "consistency" in the SERPs lately?

Our results seem be varying from the #3 to the middle fourth page in the results page.

And these changes are occurring in a matter of hours.

I know that the SERPS are a constant, but this amplitude of variancy is just odd, even assuming that we are crossing a PR export period.

I have noticed a few of my sites jumping around, not quite as wildly as your example. I'm just putting it down to the possible update going on at the moment.

Jeez, we are now at #4 again.

I wish everything would stabilize somehow.

Yep, I had a site go from #7 to #33 , and a site go from no where to #19.
(In moderate competition). The site at #19 shouldn't really be there, so the SERPs are definitely going crazy. Maybe Google is playing with filters, etc.

I can't for the life of me figure out why that site is at #19. :) It has maybe 6 backlinks and only 2 pages. The keywords for the SERP don't even appear in the title. Very weird stuff.

Glad to know I'm not alone here! Don't mean that in a sadistic way though! :D

One of my site has just been dropped 100+ positions for tons of keywords and phrases, and now it is jumping between positions 100 and 250.

Are your competitors getting into seo?

It's my theory that your site would stay the same unless other sites were getting more links. Essentially you're not doing anything wrong with your seo, but your competitors may be getting busy.

Not really the issue. I'm talking about drastic changed in the SERPS (Up and down) in a matter of hours.
