Hi, im fuser from Wikli beta ( www.wikli.com ). This is a Wikipedia search engine. I heard many people complaining about Wikipedia's inner search mode. Some people said it only shows the title of the article and that is not user friendly so they preferred to put in Google " wikipedia xxxxx" instead of going into Wikipedia and search. Thats why i created Wikli. Its the easiest and most simple way to search through all of Wikipedia's content. What do you think about the design, logo, functionality etc.. Would you use it when searching for something in Wikipedia? All comments will be taken into consideration! Thanks, fuser
Like the idea and domain name also the Design but the colors are bit odd .. I dont really like the background color .. looks bit unprofessional to me
Nice idea for a custom search. The interface is nice and clean. But: Have you checked Google custom search TOS? I am not sure if it is permitted on an otherwise content-less site... Rainer
very nice and simple.. but I miss those rollovers for the links and I can see the edges from the banner, was that intentional?
needs more graphics looks good i don't know about the brown though it makes it dark and hard to read.
I dislike the brown, too, but that's just personal choice. Maybe use the dark brown as a frame, and a tan or light brown for the inner section? Just throwing out ideas. Honestly, I search Wiki from my Firefox search bar, so I'd probably never use your site, but I'm sure a lot of people search Wiki using Google and may have a use for your site.
Yes, I think a main point about this site is how it is being promoted. If you attract a lot of people to it, it may help. I guess the not-so-knowledgable folks are your primary target, such as found at aol and yahoo. Rainer
Do you think i should make a firefox search bar? I was planning to... Exactly, ive searched wikipedia putting in google for example "wikipedia Mozart" but thats because im a webmaster and web user but what you said is the target im looking to cover. Thanks! im glad you liked it
