Hi, Guys We all webmaster know wikipedia.org and google.com Do u think Wikipedia.org can take over Google in few years ? Post Your Opinion ! My opinion: YES ! “Google is very good at many types of search, but in many instances it produces nothing but spam and useless crap. Try searching for the term ‘Tampa hotels’, for example, and you will not get any useful results…Essentially, if you consider one of the basic tasks of a search engine, it is to make a decision: ‘this page is good, this page sucks.’ Computers are notoriously bad at making such judgments, so algorithmic search has to go about it in a roundabout way…But we have a really great method for doing that ourselves. We just look at the page. It usually only takes a second to figure out if the page is good, so the key here is building a community of trust that can do that.â€
I understand, But still both are websites and Yea, It was said wikipedia gonna launch a search engine soon !
actually if you compare google with other search engines like ask.com, google really isn't shit compared to any of these other search engines, the only thing they got going is simplicity and pretty good search return. have you seen some of the shit you can do with other search engines? if google doesn't start adding "hip" to there search engine i think they could have real big competition in the future.
It is also said that google is going to launch "Knol" similar to wikipedia and then wiki is going to be affected.. So nothing can be said until wiki opens a search engine and Google opens a wiki like program!
yeah thats the only reason its number one actually. among webmasters its a must but we only make up like 5% of all internet users, most internet users want the "cool" look.

They are both good sites, I use Wikipedia a lot for research purposes. However, extremely doubt that it will ever "take over" google. It's search engine will most likely not be able to compete with google. Only time can tell, I suppose.
Google is too big and strong a 200 billion dollars company, and Wiki depends on Google for its traffic. If Google really wanted, they can dump in a lot of resources to make another Wiki or better. It is a Goliath and David fight
Which rumors of have been flying around for a while now; I've been seeing a LOT about it lately, so it's a definite possibility.
if google really saw wiki as a threat they could always take them off there serps. that would kill wiki over night.
