Let's see how it goes. Numerous times we have seen competitors claiming they are able to challenge google's dominance but looks like none actually succeed until today.

all new search offering promise to break the google stranglehold, but i'm not sure i want them to. Think about it, we've all invested significant amounts of time optimising for google and building good traffic. It is much easer to do this for one site than for five or six.

I think it's unlikely to overtake Google, but we'll have to see how it goes. I kind of like it. Thanks for bringing it up killoldesai.

it seems they already accepted that Google is number 1.

Microsoft and Yahoo both have joined hands to bring it down because it was not ones job. Come on all other search engines, Google is a Champion and will always be The Champion.

    I love Google.

They still need to do a lot of work on their search results! I think until they master the algorithm, Google will still be the best.

It's ridiculous. Anybody can do anything they want. I could put a site about the planet Mars at the top of the results of a search for Peru. Or I could put a site about Squirrels at the top of the results of a search for Queen Eilzabeth.

A bit ironic I'd think. With the amount I see Wikipedia in the Google results - it seems like a bit of a slap in the face.

Tell you what Google, give me the number of top 10 rankings you've given Wikipedia and I promise - I'll never start a search engine and then outwardly say it's to compete directly with you. ;)
