I've just tried it and was able to simply add my sites at the top of the search results. If this gains any significant share of the search engine market I think there will be huge problems with spamming.

I wouldn't complain about this. They probably get 90% organic traffic.

Because google gets most of the info from them! Also after google started "knol" which is a knockoff of wiki.

Its kinda funny though how yahoo didnt have much to say in that write up
and how you couldnt "vote for the story" as thats a first time i seen that.

We all need competition as it keeps everyone in check and the prices at bay :)

I totally agree with the statement
If the user can make some contribution on how the search engine will work that will be the best.

I think Wikipedia is doing this because Google just launched Knol :) Anyway, beating Google is not a easy job to do.

Just silly - you can delete anything you want... it's madness. Even with automated IP Blocks, the thing'll never work for the smaller searches, and you'll never get back little companies/sites even if you enter their name exactly, if there's a big site with even 1 word in common between the title of one and the title of another.

There is virtually no chance that wiki search or the newly launched cuil search engine will overtake any of the big three.:)
