Where does the wikipedia entry rank in your serps? I've seen the wikipedia entry boosted significantly up the ranks lately in search results. Could Mean: * Google values wikipedia content more than before * SEO methods employed by wikipedia are more inline with what google is looking for today (e.g. on-page factors, internal linking from body-copy...?) * Or that I just like saying wikipedia and wanted to post about wikipedia. So: 1. Where does the wikipedia entry rank in your serps? 2. Has it climbed in the rankings? 3. Do you like saying wiki-pe-dia too?
I definately agree, wilkpedia and about.com content holds top 10 positions for many of my new sites keywords.
They held the top for one of my new sites for a while, but now the link is no where to be found for my site on google but the link is still there on the wikipedia. Weird.
I have actually got 7 backlinks from them for one of my sites. I get just as much traffic from them as I get from MSN. When I last look there Alexa ranking was 16.
I think DMoz added a link to them recently. Like, a sitewide link. That could have a slight ranking boost to them. They've always ranked well, and as time goes on more pages are going to get indexed (you know the rest).
