So are you going to boycott Google as well? A simple search on Google shows many pictures of the prophet, obviously Google does not respect Islam and you should boycott google too.
Muslims certainly have the right to boycott wikipedia. Frankly I would certainly suggest that those who find the site offensive just do not visit it. Same for any religion and any web sites.
During that period of time, there were wide spread idoltry worship, I think that it would be reasonable at that time to implement this so that believers would not be mislead into idoltry worship instead of worshipping God. At least this is what I had gathered from reading about Islam, I stand to be corrected on this.
They already worship mohamud, but they just don't realize how they are doing this by giving him such high status above who they would consider other prophets. The standards are all set by mohamad even in the cases where he is saying do as I say not as I do.
With your very very very limited knowledge about different religions, I really don't think it matters for anyone what you concur or don't.
I think wiki just doesn't want to get involved with self-censorship, because then there'd be no end to it. If wiki removed everything that offended someone then they'd end up with about 4 pages. Granted if I were Muslim I would be offended and wouldn't use wiki.
That does seem to be a more moderate approach than rioting, burning buildings, and murdering people...
What is an Internet? Is it a machine? Is it a product made in China? I've never heard of it??? Answer--> The Internet is a product of People... Without the contribution and interaction from people, Internet - as we know it, would not exist...
As you had said in the other post, mutual respect, Internet requires mutual respect for each other. There should be room for differing views. Wiki had a different view of what is information and knowledge as in contrast with Muslims, but they have a right to this view. Asking them to curb their rights to their views for the sake of appeasing Islamic views isn't right IMHO.
