That is an extremely good point. They are a knowledge database that tries to remain as impartial as they can. If you look in Wiki you can find some things that insult AND complement every religion, including Christianity. They are just collecting info including facts, events and data.
Exactly. One of the Muslims who works for me could not work my How to Draw a Cat page, because drawings of animals are not allowed by his sect of Islam. He didn't say that I couldn't have that web page, he just said that he couldn't work on it. He didn't try to terrorize or control me, and I don't try to terrorize or control him. We let each other be how they want to be. If only the crazy rock-throwing nun-shooting kfc-burning lunatics in the rest of the Islamic world could be as civilized!
I respect that person who work for you and I respect you for your consideration for your employee's beliefs and feelings. This is how it should be. This is how we should treat each other in the world. There would be much less wars and conflicts for that.
Someone who refuses to do their job should be fired. Making concessions because of "beliefs" is a very slippery slope indeed. In England we have nurses unwilling to use an alcohol based disinfectant (the only thing that can effectively kill MRSA), Airport workers assuming that company policy regarding jewelery doesn't effect them and police demanding fridays off because it conflicts with their chosen religion. All should be fired. Start firing them and watch how fast they change their tune and discover it's not conflicting with their religion that much after all.
As a manager and small business owner with many years of hard experience under his belt, I can tell you that work is less black-and-white than that. Employees and contractors all present a wide range of problems, and each must be dealt with in the context of the whole picture. Let's take an extreme example: You have a salesperson who is a barely functioning alcoholic. He can't show up regularly to sales meetings, and when he does show up he reeks of alcohol. Yet he has been performing at twice quota for three years straight. Are you going to fire him? Hmmm... Here's a more common example for me: You have an excellent consultant, but he's going through a divorce. He's been with your company for years. He's been mentally checked out for months. Everyone else on the team is covering for him, and their starting to complain. Are you going to fire him? Hmmm... Everyone has dentist appointments, doctors appointments, hairstylist appointments, school meetings, funerals, house closings, etc... When you're a manager, you have to learn to work with people. The real rule for firing people is usually this: Do they earn the company more money than they cost the company?
I see it in a slightly different way. When your an employee and you are taking a wage from someone you have to do your job. You sound like a soft touch will, In London you would get fleeced.
I made beaucoup bucks in London. British people are easy to compete with. Years of socialism has made them soft. Of course, British people tend to make lousy employees -- years of socialism has also made them lazy!
Well you are the more polite ones, one consultant told me people paid him to cursed and swear at them.
Well, consultant is a conjugation of "con" and "insult." Only kidding! Only kidding! I've helped clients build huge businesses and reap fantastic RoI from penetrating new markets with cutting edge technologies. I've helped clients slash IT costs while concurrently increasing reliability by implementing improved processes and monitoring systems. I've saved clients from potentially enormous legal and financial liabilities resulting from security vulnerabilities in their production architectures. And then... I retired. Now I just play on the web all day.
After researching this deeply... I think drawing Muhammad (PBUH) pictures is not allowed in Isalm. But instead of putting all our energy to stop it, we, as Muslims, have a lot to work on. We should be doing that instead. IMO.
but now, this picture has been removed from Wikipedia... i am very much happy that this picture has been removed ! this shows that how muslims love their prophet and gets united to remove his picture from wiki and about 10,000 peoples voted to remove it. I thanked to all muslims who help us to remove this picture! by the way i have also voted to remove it
The voice of 17 years old manager of Burger king from the background: "Will, will, wake up; stop day dreaming. Go and clean the fu*king bathrooms."
For a while I was thinking I was getting old and my sight was failing I don't think Wiki made the decision to keep the pictures arbitrarily, it should be after a lot of thoughts and considerations. They had already made the decision and won't change it lightly, I had a surprise initially when I read the post. Have to go back to Wiki to double confirm.
Who would sign a petition to have all muslim women remove their burkas? I may start one, as i hate burkas & they offend me
