    If you have a really cool website, why not create it's Wikipedia page ? This will surely speed things up in getting yourself a good ammount of visitors.

    By a cool website, I mean an application or something, do not just spam wikipedia because your pages will be erased and your account will get banned.

    What do you think of this ? Have you ever tried this kind of stuff ?

    I tried it and my page was erased for spamming, but I made a cool page about my application: www.ipagerank.org

    I don't see anything wrong with it, but you won't receive any backlinks from it since wikipedia is "nofollow". Also, your best bet would be to add the link to related articles to get traffic.

    I am not making it for backlinks, I just wanted to have a cool page about it and yes get some traffic.

    I currently have ~7000 UV per month.
