To make a long story short: I made an account for wikipedia, i spent like 4 hours to make a page about my company.. Uploaded it on wikipedia.. It looked nice.

BOOM ; page was deleted as the reason was i was advertising my company .. lol .. I guess that was the ideea, after all it was put on wikipedia under my company name, unique name, no other article was there.

To top things off my username was locked as it had my company name in it and now I have to change it. This is not fair... :(

Anyone got any advice on how to make my company article stick on wikipedia.. Maybe some real example of similar stories...

    Thanks in advance

Although this isn't a real life story, I do know that wikipedia really likes references to articles, not just the primary source (for instance, cnn on wikipedia doesn't just reference cnn.com. It references a ton of other articles written about cnn.com). I'm not sure how you would get around this unless articles exist about your site/company, but I'm guessing the lack of such was a contributing factor.

Never tried this before but what you can do is look for the companies that have their profiles on wikipedia and see how they did it. Notice the details and plan your way to get into wikipedia. I don't think this is hard. Good Luck though ;) :)

Step 1: Create several articles about your services with link outs to your company site. Submit these to free article sites.

Step 2: Edit existing articles on Wikipedia that are related to your business. These pages must not be about other companies but about your service/your industry/etc.

Step 3: For source citations, use the urls from Step 1.

Step 4: After you've published quite a few of these, create a page about your company on wikipedia.
