It is funny how the interviewer in the first video is bending over to put words in the judge mouth that wikileaks is guilty of something and still doesn´t succeed.

Well it seems that we have a "happy bunch"

Interesting poll O-nation , the final result is what I expected but I did expected the young generation to be smarter when it comes to foreign policy . I believe that the coolness factor of cyberanarchism and "sticking it to the man" was a major factor in the youths decision . Due to the use file piracy a lot of people identify themselves whit those behind Wikileaks .

This is one part I agree with. You can rest assured that whatever it is that you get from me, condemnation or credit, will be well deserved. Personally for me, the whole idea that the man and the organization stands for, the ends they seek, the means they choose, the values of truth and freedom they stand for are the decision making factors. At the end of this all we will have less secretive, accountable, transparent governments and lesser if not extinct human rights abuses condoned by the government, militaries and secret services. I choose all these over individual incidents like releasing names of human rights activist or making diplomatic work more difficult. They started out with Kenya, now they are at US, next they'll be in the banking sector and then on Russia. They have already exposed India so you can trust that my opinions are without bias and not out of dislike or hatred for a certain group as some as attempted to paint them as.

Watch these, if anyone has an open mind then maybe they will be more rational at the end of the next 5 minutes.

    Read the comments:

Australia doesn't have the death penalty because we're a civilised country; but the suggestion Assange should be executed is more then wrong, more then an insult to Australians, it's spittle in face of human dignity; Assange is a Hero, he has furthered the interests of real democracy as have patriots like Manning; shame on the plutocrats & blood-thirsty right-wingers. Such people have destroyed the idea that America is a examplar to be followed, imitated & emulated as a model of fair democracy.

If Julian Assange was in China doing the same thing, the West would call him a dissident and give him the Nobel prize.

Bahaha, Merry Christmas!! What a legend. So glad someone is finally giving US politicians a proper shake up. The rest of the world now just wants the US people to wipe their eyes and take a proper look at what their government has become. Stand up for yourselves America and let your politicians know that they're not above the laws that you abide to.

Shame on anyone that would even consider sending a vote in the direction of Sarah Palin or Mike Huckabee!

One just needs to go to videos like these or even the ones condemning him or go to news portals and look at the comments at them to gauge public sentiments better than any bias 1000 sample size poll.

And if anyone wants to see where unbiased people who support for freedoms and human rights stand on wikileaks, one just needs to look at the:

Why does it not surprise me that Helvetii forms his political opinions based on the comments left under youtube videos. I hope this isn't representative of "Indian Education".

Why does it not surprise me that I'm once again not inclined to talk sense into a bitter failed cretin whose wasting his christmas eve picking up fights with random strangers on the internet? I guess I know the answer. Good Bye and Merry Christmas. May this season help you realize that there a whole new world outside your small minded opinions which you are unwilling to change at any cost.

Well, hopefully before you go, I had a stupid question. Why are you quoting from the OAS ? They pertain to South America, not to India.

Other stupid questions for anyone else who would care to answer :

Why does Assange try to claim freedom under the First Amendment
when he is an Australian ? He is not covered by the First Amendment is he ? Does he
have dual citizenship or something ?

In case you forgot, I am Muslim. Waging Jihad against stupidity is my religious obligation, even(especially?) on Christmas eve.

    Run Forest, Run!

Having an opinion in opposition to fact is called stupidity. Sorry, just can't go there, at any cost. May this season help you to focus on helping the 160 million people suffering under bigotry because of their lower caste in India.

They want US law to apply when it plays to their benefit. Pretty standard really.

Then he is not covered. He can not claim to stand under the First Amendment it if he is not covered by it.

You are right, its a stupid question. Now drink a large glass of juice. Sleep over it and once your hangover is down re-read my post. http://www.oas.org/en/member_states/default.asp

For everyone else, UN Joint Statement on Wikileaks, worth a read:

In regard to your other stupid question, First Amendment rights protect freedom of press and journalists from prosecution in US regardless of citizenship.

If he is going to go to court in USA, under which laws do you think the prosecutor should charge him? Under the laws made up by bunch of right wing Republicans full of hot air or under laws of USA?

For the first question; I do not think they have enough evidence to prosecute him for anything yet. If he is a recipient of stolen goods, maybe he could be charged with that, but I am no lawyer. It looks like they want to prosecute him for espionage. He actually went to jail for the charge of rape, totally unrelated to the topic at hand.

Politicians are politicians, maybe you know the old joke; "How do you know when a politician is lying ?" :)

They could try him under the espionage act, but short of his arrest and extradition to a place like Afghanistan to be tried for murder, I'd much prefer he be held at Guantanamo as an enemy combatant until the war is over :D.

He didn´t go to prison for charge of rape, Sweden wants him for questioning and he is not charged. In EU, an extradition order needs almost no proof and is not looked in the country which is executed (England), it only needs a member state to issue it.
If he is charged with espionage in State, he can also use the part of law that as a journalist he as was only exercising his right. Do you understand that in a court you can not claim that you want the court to look at one law but ignore the other parts?

Look at above part of my post in regard to espionage act. The other part is interesting since it shows the hot air right wing Republicans support for becoming a rouge state that acts like some banana republics in south America and Asia with no regard for International laws. It is no wonder that so many American politicians and military personal are afraid to go out of US in the fear of being arrested for different crimes.

So you are saying international law must prevail, and you want Assange extradited. Got it. I'm with you man. I think most Republicans agree.

As far as the legal guidance of the first part of your post is concerned, I think I better consult my attorney Helvetii before taking your words at face value. He strikes me as a guy who will be dealing with the law quite a bit throughout his life.

I am glad that most Republican agree that international law must prevail, when do you think they will be sending back the CIA operatives to Italy to server their prison time? How about at the same time, sending back the ones that are wanted by Germany.
