What do you guys think of them, I wanted to make one but I never really saw any ads on them. Its said non profit, so I want sure if you were allowed to have adsense on the site., I might start one, but do you think putting adsense is allowed?
Adsense is fine to my knowledge, if its your own. i don't see any reason why that wouldn't be the case. I don't really see much use in niche ones but it's worth a try if it's what you want to do
If you have a community already, then opening a wiki for that community is a good idea. And you can serve any kind of ads you want on self hosted wikis.
okay thanks for the info, I was thinking of making a random one and promoting it, like gamingwiki And, when I was playing my zelda game i typed a place where I got stuck on google, and zeldawiki.org came up, that also gave me the idea to make mine own
Here's a couple of tips for you for your wiki. 1. Require membership to post, because this cuts down spam. 2. Be an active mod, or get one. Once people see "Viagra" they are gone forever.
