Sounds like spam. Wikipedia allows free sites in external links and references, as long as the links are not spam. I take it you tried and got moderated? Otherwise, I doubt you would post. What exactly can we help you with?
Have you considered writing something up about your site on Wiki? I don't know what your sites are about, but it may be something you could do.
its hard as hell to have a link in wikipedia even if your site is 100% relevant and USEFUL the moderators are the most sick people that i saw in my life, they have no life nothing to do, so be prepared to fight against these pigs. once i contributed with 8 Hand writen Articles into different Pages then added my links in the external links section, you know what they did, they removed my links and kept my original and Useful content Anyway i was not gonna accept that they steal my content and remove my links so i added my content in another of my websites and sent them an complaint about copyright and content stealing and they finally removed my content from their articles (now am happy no links = no content for wikipedia )
I know that the links are set to nofollow. There was a matt cutts article I read recently where he said that google largely ignores the nofollow tag anyway? Whether that is true or not, I have actually had a few links stick in 3 pages under the 'resources' sections of wikipedia and they produce between 5 and 10 clicks a day. That' s not much but it has to count for something. Rumor has it that google doesn't like Wikipedia as much as it used to? funkymario, I tried that too, wrote a couple nice articles and listed my site as a resource for several phrases. It was pulled within two days, but they didn't keep my article.
I did. You can't steal content that has been released under the GFDL as long as you follow the terms of the GFDL. The GFDL allows modification which includes the removal of links.
Dude we are webmasters, i dont care about what is GFDL, they removed my links so i removed my content no links for me = no content for wikipedia.
Just say someone else posted your content No-one else can give away your content no matter to wikipedia despite whatever stupid license is placed on it.
yeah..whatever the license..gpl lpgp or whatever...the copyright notice.or the authors sig shud be there.. otherwise! damn them!
I agree with Mario, i've got dozens of document on Wiki i wrote over the years and the scum have pulled my resource links on all but one. Its people like me who helped make the site as comprehensive as it is.
Wikipedia in general removes all the links to site that have adsense or other advertising programs on the site.(internal sources - administrator) Yes Wikipedia have nofolow but links in wikipedia are good for traffic.
Maybe many united webmaster may can create and alternative to wikipedia that the owner of content to put link sfor his site.
if your site includes good resources, editors will let your links to be added.for example i have a lot of links on pages about tennis and they send 250 visiters/day.just try to add.do not think the editor.
wikipedia is adding nofollow to the links because of that it will not help your seo. but if you want to add a link to wikipedia , you must add somethink to the wikipedia
