It will certainly benefit you in future. Submit you blog to this directory now and who knows it will become PR 5 in an year or so.

it doesn't means that if a directory is pr 0 u wont get back links from there .....if u are putting ur link in pr 0 directory ...... and if that directory approves ur website ... you website will surely get back links from there ...

completely agree. Submitting to PR0 directories is much more helpful than submitting to PR N/A ones.

Submitting to ANY directory, regardless of PR, will be helpful to you in the long run. The key is to submit to directories which are not fly-by-night or contain listings which are spam.

canadian eh says "The PR you see on the toolbar may be 3 months out of date. The value is submitting to free directories when they are new, Your site will be well placed as the site gains PR in the future."

i believe this is correct. one never knows how the directory will develop over time, so your link which may not be of much 'value' now for a variety of factors, it will age with time (and perhaps be at the top of the page in your category if you submitted early on) and the directory may also well end up as a pr 3 or pr 4 within a year or two so the value of your link rises as well.
also any link that isn't from a bad neighborhood or link farm i assume is counted somehow by the search engines as a vote in your favor....there are really so many variables determing serps it makes one's head spin sometimes....but quality and quantity are both important for backlinks (of course quality is quite superior)
many of these directories coming out now have much the same design and templates so i don't consider many to be worth much in submitting to, i often try to look for something a bit unique in a directory when submitting to free and paid ones....

Directories? Go waste your time. Yeah, I know, I'm "stupid". The gutless wonder that said that? Look in the mirror.

PR0 is still giving points. As mentioned already, they will rise in PR with time and then you have a link on a lets say PR 3 site after a year. Think long run. :)

well I also question the benefits of adding my website in all directories and can til yet not see any real effect from such efforts but whether those breadcrumbs for PR pass l on to me help or not, they definitely help diversify the incoming links.

Should atleast add to the organic link building part - hell I haven't read that word in a long time "organic".
