Any permanent link, especially when desired anchor text is used, can benefit your site. Since you have a directory, listing in other directories would be highly relevant.

If PR 0, than this directory must be known by Google but if you see PR N/A than this directory is not known by Google.
I think PR 0 directory is also helpful.
    Thanks

Sooner or later they will get PR and if you submit now when they are free then
you havent wasted your time as most may have a small fee to list within a few years..;)

If the directory has been established for a long time and still has PR0 then there is a greater chance that you won't get much benefit. However, new directories that are PR0 are like lottery tickets. Some will pay off big, others just a bit, and a lot will be worthless. Hey, but they're free links so it's still worth a little bit of time every day.

PR not important anymore.. if you submit your site at directory that have PR, your listing will be at inner page, i mean category page... do you check that category page have PR to? so, why you still looking PR? just submit your site.. and you will find backlink from another search engine...

p/s: sorry my bad english :p

The PR you see on the toolbar may be 3 months out of date. The value is submitting to free directories when they are new, Your site will be well placed as the site gains PR in the future.

It honestly does not matter as much anymore. The main thing to remember is that when you are submitting to directories, you should always choose an anchor text with strong keywords and select a good category. As CanadianEh stated, its more beneficial to find directories that are brand new and submit to them because as time goes on they will reach a higher PR.

Directories = Schlog. Nothing, nadda, zero, zippo, undetectable, not on the radar, no value, unimportant, no cando, totally wasted effort. In other words directories are stupid. Just my opinion. I have wasted way too much time inserting into directories over the years. Who reads this junk? Nobody, that's who. When was the last time you went to a "directory" to find anything? I bet it was for Twitter, like Twello or some other lost cause.

Here is a thought; Think of what YOU use. Then you will have your very first lead.

Apparently you never submitted any of your sites to any quality directories.

The only thing that is stupid are your comments. :p

It may not contribute a lot to your link building. But it can attract some traffic to your site if it has regular visitors.

There is nothing like PR0 directory. By the same token, there is nothing like PR6 directory ;)There is PR0/6 directory at a given point of time (current PR) :) PR is a variable and like other members said any permanent link can be beneficial.

PR is only one of over 200 factors it uses when ranking websites. The volume of backlinks [of which Google only shows some] is a much stronger value than what they place on PR. As long as the directory is indexed in Google, or will be indexed in the future, it will have value despite the 0 PR. Even if it never gets a PR value greater than 0. If you want value the question you should be asking is "Does this directory have a strong review process, or are the listings spam?" A listing in a link farm posing as a directory will not help you.

For the mislead dedicated PR hunters, also consider this. Have you noticed the amount of *new* high PR directories? These are simply people buying dropped domain names that have visible PR still calculated on them. They're worth nothing more than a 0PR, and you will notice the inside categories are all grey. They're not worth any more than a new directory in terms of PR, so it's something to watch out for.

I submit to all directories, whatever maybe the PR.
Just hoping that one day PR of that directory will go up. Submit it to a ton atleast few will build good PR.

Why do you think PR0 has no value at all? If someone were to give me some PR0 links I wouldn't turn them down. A directory on the whole is considered less "good" because you can control the links that come to you from one. Links that you have no control over would give you more "power". i.e. a link from a site that you don't own and don't have access to for editing.
