I really don't know where to post this. I am looking for a way to upload a homepage to my wireless Linksys router, so when someone clicks on it, they will see my homepage before they start surfing the net on it. I give it away free, so they do not have to log into it. Rather than the password script coming up, is it possible to have my homepage come up instead? It seems to me that it would be easy to upgrade the firmware to do this. Anyone have an idea?
You can check this http://www.antamedia.com/hotspot/ Note: your clients/customers are UNSAFE as the wireless connection is NOT encrypted. (there is no wireless security enabled, not even WEP!). So, checking email and doing financial businesses via that connection is absolutely not recommended!
Check out DD-WRT. It's an opensource firmware for the Linksys WRT54G* routers that includes free hot spot capability on the mega package. Not sure hot technically saavy you are, but installing this firmware can trash your router (as in dead forever) if you mess it up.
