It looks like many people just dont know how to search in google? Is this a big problem still that many people face? It looks like people enter broad keywords and they are getting total unrealistic results? Unlike webmasters, there are huge percentage of people coming from different backgrounds. Is this happening for real?
Yep. You have to remember that most people using the web probably aren't as smart as the people who are building the sites they visit.
Its strange for me! Using the search engine ain't that hard. Still most of them dont know. Looks to me is the very basic problem, people face within themselves.
I think it's because most people don't know how to spell or use proper grammar and tend to write in incomplete sentences when on the internet. Probably because English isn't their first language but it can be used to your advantage when optimizing a site for keywords. Sometimes the internet is the dumbest place ever and you have to dumb yourself down to it's level to maximize it's potential.
In my opinion, most people do not know how search engines work, and they don't care to learn the very simple things that will get them better results. I know people who when going to a particular website that they know the address for will first go to a search engine, type the address, get results, and click on the site they wanted to show me. Why they would do that is beyond me. They knew the exact address. But it just goes to show how poorly skilled computer users really are. /*tom*/
As ridiculous as this is, a lot of people do it. This is why I sometimes try to get pages to rank for domain names of popular sites.
lol, ya there usually long unnecessary terms like Google search: I need a cool font that is free to download ...etc lmao
The ones that get me the most are: "Show me all of the movies that Kevin Bacon has starred in" or "Where can I find a rake for my yard?"
Yes, google is just a piece of website and remember Internet is composed of millions of websites worldwide.
I blame Ask Jeeves. It gave people the wrong idea about how search engines work. A lot of people consider a search engine a personal search assistant. They will "talk" to a SE in the same way they'd talk to a secretary. I've seen search queries like "Find me information about blue widgets".
I agree. I think Ask Jeeves has a lot to do with it. People seem believe they have to type in question form, when they can just use keywords to narrow their search. I kind of feel bad for people like that.
I cant believe many people who perform search in G are dumb. They just dont know what to type and they complain not getting expected results.
