Widgetbucks: Scam?

Discussion in 'Affiliate Programs' started by assassin, Jan 15, 2008.

I signed up to widgetbucks and put their banner on my page, 3 days later its still showing Impressions and Clicks as 0. I usually get 30k impressions a day through google adsense.

Have people had the same thing and how have they resolved it? Or is Widgetbucks a scam and this is all pointless?

So each time you embed some code in your site and it doesnt show page impressions you call them scam?....no, they actually pay very well and on time.

Now let me explain why you are not seeing any p impression. This is due to the reason that the url you entered when creating the widget, is your home page, and you were supposed to enter the url where you are actually showing the ad, create another widget with the proper url and you'll see that it works.

you have to enter the url of your homepage which you registered with them. If you put those codes on a different site and different url, it wont show anything unless you put in your url in the ads! They paid me so they are not scam!

As far as I know, WidgetBucks does not have real-time reporting and will only display impression/click statistics 3-4 days later. For example, today I am only able to view statistics up to the 13th of January. This might only be the case with new accounts though.

Good its not a scam. But I'm using the same URL as when I registered the site, and the URL is right for the page I'm showing the ads. Still the impressions are showing as 0. Seems like some people have issues like me getting impressions. I'll give it another 2 days like ponynugget suggested just incase they have an issue with new accounts. It does seem a bit crap that you have to create a different code for every page you want to put the ads on.

If they wanted to scam you they wouldn't do it by showing 0 impressions. They would give you real stats, maybe even inflated stats like an amazingly high CPC, and then when it came time to pay they would find an excuse not to pay, and send you a list of TOS violations and letting you try to guess which one you might have violated.

Oh...that's exactly what they did to a lot of publishers, isn't it?

So if my website has 500 pages and I want to put the widgets on all the pages, then I'll have to create 500 widgets??

I have the same question. If this is so, then they are insane, and no way would I use this. I just signed up and got my account confirmed. I am going to use this on a blog website. Does that mean I need a new widget for every single post that I make?

I am having the same issues with tracking not showing any impressions or clicks for the last 3 days running.

I'll give it a few more days before I pull the plug.

I am almost certain that they aren't a scam. Although I never tried them, I have read other places and on this forum and they got their payout.

I noticed this too. Yes, it appears you need a new code for each different URL (for want of a better expression). For example, if you embedded the ads in blog posts (each with a different URL) then you would need different codes for each. Of course you could just paste them in the sidebar and it wouldn't be an issue.

I might be mistaken, but that's certainly my observation.

I gave it 5 days and still no stats, the ads are coming off the site. If its not a scam its very badly run.
