WidgetBucks is looking like a decent adsense replacement

I do that also ! I have a CJ account with eBay feeds on same page, then I have adsense aswell, so if something happens to WB and my earnings then atleast I have CJ and adsense as back up also.

I am looking into working some amazon feeds or widgets into my site, just haven't had the time, I just found that CJ was thrustrating for a CJ newb like myself - WB was simple and easy to manage.

Well, it seems so far that the more traffic I give them the lower the CPM. I started just giving them 200 impressions a day and I've upped it to 1000. At 1000 for 2 days my CPM is less than $2. At 200 it was quite a bit more. At $2 AdSense beats 'em hands down. Not to mention the only CPM I get from WB is based on the pending amount which apparently is up for change. AdSense shows what it pays for the most part. So I'm getting cold feet on these guys. I'm gonna blast enough traffic to get me to payout and probably drop them for a while until the community scrutinizes them more. If upping the traffic takes my CPM down much more I'll not even bother with payout. It'll cost more in cheap clicks than they'll payout.

One last thing for anyone intersted. I rotated two different categories of ads. The first day one ad category did great and the other rotten, the second day... exact opposite. I haven't seen such strange behavior from any other program. Very weird. I probably should base my observations on more than a measly 2000 impressions, but I really don't want to waste much more traffic.

Just a small question for all those who are listening... can we use widgets and adsense on the same page?

What kind of traffic are you buying though ? I had some crap results at first, so I spent a few bucks extra to target English Speaking countries, US, UK mainly, now my earnings are climbing.

I've been running my campaign for close to 2 weeks now, I am slowly getting better returns.

That may be the deal but all of my traffic is natural search, nothing bought. The traffic quality should have been pretty similar for the 1000 hits as it was for the 200. I'll let it run a bit and see if it is a fluke. Thanks for the response. I'm probably being too quick to judge it... I do hope it changes for the better. :)

You should use MerchSense for better match to site theme as well as 300*250 or 160*600 vertical ads in order to inscrease CTR. :)

I still haven't given up yet but they sure wittle a lot off when they finalize the totals, an average of .10 CPC turned into .025 CPC. Weird.

No make a widgetPage and do this: <iframe src="widgetPage.html"></iframe> ... Your idea is more intuitive but it doesn't work that way. It really should... but it doesn't. You can set the innerHTML property as well, but the way I showed is simpler.

For MerchSense you'll need to give it some hints, so on your widget page probably set the title to the target topic you want covered.

don't forget to give me a rep point. :)

But do the clicks open in a new page or inside the iFrame ? I'd also use an auto sizing iFrame instead of a fixed size. Just hope you guys realise an iFrame is most likely against their TOS - they like to ban for any reason remember.
