Widget platforms - widgetbox, clearspring, create our own?

    I'm going to be working with alot of different kinds of widgets and need a single platform for consistency and tracking. Should I use a 3rd party like widgetbox or clearspring? If so, which one?
    Or should I just create my own and not use a vendor?

    My assumption is a vendor ensures standardization across blog and social platforms as well as providing an alternative source for distribution/promotion.
