Wide Angle Lens - a *must* have for a (D)SLR

This (the pictures below) is why I love having a wide angle lens for my DSLR. I have a Sigma 12mm-24mm/F4.5-5.6

Of course with a DSLR there is the 1.6X crop factor which is very annoying on the short end of focal lengths but nice for the zoom lenses.

So my 12mm is more like 19mm but still it gives you quite the wide vantage point, especially inside of buildings:

Just a few from inside the capital of Texas:

It is a specialty lens, you can tilt, shift, or rotate the lens in relation to the sensor plane.
