On Microsoft's search engines you can now do a linkfromdomain: search to search which pages a domain is linking to. Great for finding whether a domain is linking to a dodgy neighbourhood site. See my write up on Microsoft's LinkFromDomain Search on my blog to see some wicked tools that already utilize this. Like the one for finding links to banned sites for instance! Are you at risk?!
http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=LinkFromDomain:hotfile.us Not working :S but google is linking to over 10 million pages http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=LinkFromDomain:google.com Peace,
It's weird how CNN, Digg and the BBC all list hummer.com and nike.com: http://search.live.com/results.aspx?q=LinkFromDomain:bbc.co.uk I wonder how MSN sorts them?! I have yet to come across some really embarrassing ones...
I put in my domain for it and it pulled up a bunch of weird links...sites that definitely do NOT link to my site...what gives?
It's displaying links I definitely do NOT link to though....some of the links don't have ANY relation to my site at all and I've never even seen them...
I've thought the same thing, and then I realized that some members of my forum are linking to all kind of places that I wasn't even aware of.
I agree -- its pulling up some links from quite well buried subpages, but certainly interesting, do I really want to link to THAT site!
Now this is interesting. I have a site that dropped off the MSN SERPS map several months ago after ranking in the top 5 positions for many keywords for 6+ months. A "site:" command has since been showing only about 12 pages out of around 100+. A "linkdomain:" command shows 2500+ backlinks today. I get absolutely no MSN traffic to this site ... not 1. This new command "linkfromdomain:" that you have introduced in this thread returns "We did not find any results" for my site in question. It works fine for all my other sites. Apparently MSN thinks so little of my site that it won't even acknowledge that I'm linking to other sites. I seem to be one of those "bad neighborhoods"!
