hi I have got a mystery for me .. hope someone may answer it please go to google, search for "bounce house" and go to the 2-nd page (or just click http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...:official&hs=G5p&q=bounce+house&start=10&sa=N) in there you will see a site bouncehousekauai.com that site has: PR 1 14 links according to yahoo the term "bounce house" in their source code appears 6 times now .. the site right under it on the google's search page (leapsnbounces.com) has the following: PR 3 104 links according to yahoo the term "bounce house" in their source code appears 15 times Both of them have the search term in their title. so .. WHY is bouncehousekauai.com more honored by google (and it appears even higher honored by yahoo) than the site right below it, and MANY of the other sites below it ? Just a glance look over those sites tells that MOST of the sites appearing under that search term should have been more honored by SE .. but still, bouncehousekauai.com is honored more ! Anyone has any explanation ? Thanks
It could be that it is an older domain. It's WHOIS record says that it was registered on 19-Feb-2004. But, that could have been when it was re-registered. More likely though, one or more of the links it has are from an "authority" site. Google is mysterious; The ways of Google are not the ways of normal men.
but it's not only google, yahoo places that site as the 2-nd result for keyword "bounce house" .. so there should be some kind of logical explanation
Also, it has the keywords in it's domain name. This likely means that the inbound links have better keyword density.
I think that the main reason is the entire key phase is contained within the URL. Not only that, but it's at the very beginning of the URL. Google places a very strong emphasis on the key word being in the URL and proximity of the keyword within the URL. Notice, though, that if you search for the exact phrase, "bounce house" (with quotes) that the www.bouncehousekauai.com/ URL isn't even in the first 4 pages, while you're still on the second page. This leads me to believe that their current index ranking might only be temporary.
