PR dont guarantee a top position for your website. Many times some "low pr pages" getting a better position. Ranking positions depend on many various factors, otherwise it would be to easy to gain best positions.

I am glad that not always the biggest pr is at the first place.

Meyermetall was right. Rankings are based on various factors not on it's PR. You can get good position even you have low PR.

PR is important while talking about the crawl rate not that much important in terms of ranking ... (dont think its not at all important)... but PR4 is fine ... and Alexa shows the data it gets from users browsing via Alexa Toolbar .. ;) so Alexa is worth less.

Page Rank isn't worth anything anymore, I don't understand why people keep going on about it.

First of all, Alexa has nothing to do with search results placements.

Secondly, even a 0 or no PR pages out rank PR6 or PR5 .... pages. Google love new content, and when google finds it, google places such new pages up in search results out ranking many high PR pages.

PR4 out ranking PR5 page is no big deal. Google dont only see PR when it comes to search results placement

a high PR doesn't guarantee a high position in SERPs.. it's about how you optimize your site and i believe that Alexa has nothing to do with it.. besides, it's useless today

there are many reasons where this can happen and it is very common. PR is based soley on your links...the PR5 page can have good links coming from unrelated pages that will boosts its PR but not do much for its rankings, while the lower PR site can have less but more targeted links....It can also be domain age...and it can be that the PR5 site is simply not targeting the given keyword....or the PR4 page has better on page SEO....

the possibilities are endless but as you learn more you will understand why this is quite common. The moral of the story is to pay very little attention to PR and Alexa
