Why your ad was not approved

Here is the Guidelines Shawn has set out for ads:
The main reason why I have not approved ads so far is because the anchor text is all in lower case. Pretty easy to overlook but it is in the guidelines so I just follow the guidelines.

The other reason is if the site is extremely light on with text and just mainly links. I'm sure Shawn has a second look at the ones I don't approve and can make the final decision.

As for the anchor text - it's simple to get this right so just follow the guidelines.

    Incorrect:
    Anchor Text: flower shop
    Description: flower shop

    Correct:
    Anchor Text: Flower Shop
Description: Our flower shop sells roses and tulips seven days a week and delivers flowers around the globe.

I have disapproved a ton of ads for these two reasons:

    1. all lover case anchor text
    2. no real description to speak of

I don't understand why we even need to put up a description when we choose the text link code...

That's as a publisher of other people's ads, you chose which format of ad to display on your site.

When you create an ad for someone else to publish on their site, they may choose:
    text ad or
banner (image or text link plus description).

That is why it must be suitable for both situations.

Yeah... you're right... I was using descriptions similar to the flower shop you posted, so I guess I need to change that from now on...

Looking through the sites wanting ads approved, they are often the same sites serving ads... I see a lot of banners (usually description not image), but the majority are link only.

speaking about text links vs banners... is banner counted the same as one text link when calculating a weight ? I mean.. if you display just one banner then your weight = PR * number of indexed pages ?

As far as I know yes, one ad is one ad = regardless of format.

    Shawn may want to clarify.
