I bought one thinking that I could make some good money from it. But I didn't if you are thinking about buying one or starting one you should check out Million Dollar Blog Which says why you should not, traffic as well as adsense screenshots are provided. Let me know what you guys think.
Try changing your advertising medium. Arcades usually don't make alot to start with, but if you signup up with a CPM. It probably wouldn't be hard to find a network that pays like $3-4/CPM which woulld get you $15-20 in the same period.
Instead of using AdSense... why not get some software and run your own PPC, you set the price. From what I gather on your blog you have a network of sites, if so the hard work is done. -SS
Mubin, How well do you think adversal would perform, I see you have an avergae of about 2000 pageviews and growing. that could bring in a little more money right? just a thought...
Basically, don't use Adsense on your arcade - its horrendous; myself and a lot of people i've spoken to only pull in around $0.01-$0.03 per click through them You'll find a lot of people making good money with adsense are the ones blatently breaking Google TOS by displaying images in conjuction with the ads themselves. If you're fortunate to have YPN, use those instead, i've heard nothing but positive feedback about the yield for those ads on arcades. My best advice for monetization would be to look at CPM, through companies such as ValueClickMedia or RightMedia - they are the ones that typically display ads for smilies etc, and others generally aimed at the sort of audience arcades are geared towards. With 3-4 CPM ad spots on every page, getting around 500 uniques per day, my last arcade was making between $2-$3 a day - not a huge amount, I admit (as I didn't have time to fully promote it in order to increase traffic, plus I was stuck with the lower-paying RightMedia while waiting for my VCM application to go through) - but considering what you paid for it, you'd have a good chance of making profit within the first month or two. Arcades in general aren't the sort of places you just leave standing idle; they do require work in order to not only keep the content fresh, but also to pull in visitors. Make sure you're signed up to a few good banner exchanges, grab a few ads through adengage, and make use of things such as link/media dumps etc. Good luck
